John E. ‘Jack’ Carroll Sr., 93, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Twp. passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 at his home. Born January 24, 1927 in Charleroi, PA he was the son of the late Thomas and Josephine Sac Carroll. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 70 years, Mr. Carroll was a member of St. Sebastian RC Church, Belle Vernon. Mr. Carroll was retired from Whg-Pgh Steel Allenport Plant, where he was a superintendent of maintenance. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the US Coast Guard. He was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659, served on Rostraver Zoning and Hearing Board for over 40 years, was an avid hunter and enjoyed being outdoors.
He is survived by a son John E. Carroll Jr. of Rostraver Twp., grandchildren Lee & Carol King, GiGi & Joe Leckie, Jason King. John 'JJ' Carroll, and a great granddaughter Chelsey Leckie. He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Jean Cooper Carroll, daughter Linda Jo Carroll King Bonnucci, and brother Thomas Carroll.
A private funeral mass will be held for the family due to the COVID-19 and state mandate.
