Ronald & Marlene Toth

Ronald L. Toth, 84, formerly of Belle Vernon, PA, passed away on June 1, 2020 and his wife Marlene F. Toth, 82, formerly of Monessen, PA, passed away on August 15, 2019.  Ronald was the son of the late Rebecca Mutich Toth and Peter Toth; and was raised with great devotion by his beloved uncles and aunt Mildred Barron.  He was a veteran, serving as first lieutenant in the Air Force, and specializing in aeronautical navigational systems, and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He was a longtime member of Vestal United Methodist Church, a board member of the Vestal Senior Center where he regularly contributed his time and skills, and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. All who knew him will remember Ron as a quiet, humble, brilliant man who was quick with a kind word and a wide, raised-eyebrow smile, ready to offer a hand in any way he could, small or large. He took enormous pride in his work, never failing to go above and beyond what was expected of him. During his 31-year career as an inventor and electrical engineer at IBM, he developed and held several patents under his name. He always seemed to know the answers, and after long, analytical thought, he would approach anything and everything in life with a determination for excellence and care. He was an accomplished craftsman and photographer, as well as an amateur ornithologist, and spent his happiest hours working tirelessly in his cherished garden.

Marlene was the daughter of the late Jennie and Audley Frye. She was a longtime member of Vestal United Methodist Church where she served on Stephen Ministry and the prayer chain, and was a member of the Interest Group, sewing quilts for those in need. She also served on the board of Vestal Senior Center as corresponding secretary. Marlene was an accomplished calligrapher, gifted seamstress, and loved music. If a song was playing, she was singing and dancing; if a bird was calling, she was whistling an answer. She was dearly loved for her fun and generous spirit and unending desire to brighten the lives of others, family, friends, and strangers alike, and cared especially for children as she remained young at heart.  They will both be greatly missed and remembered with much love.  They are survived by their loving daughter, Lynn Toth; son and daughter-in-law, William and Claire Toth; granddaughters, Cassidy Breyfogle and Capri Toth.

Graveside services for Ronald and Marlene will be held Friday September 25, 2020 at 11 AM in Belle Vernon Cemetery with Pastor Ryan Washabaugh officiating.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.
